The Project Mercury and Gemini add-ons by estar are really great. If only improvements were made (especially Gemini), these add-ons would be as great as the Shuttle Fleet or AMSO.

My few suggestions:

1. Better handling of the heli (Mercury)

2. Animated pads with the umbilicals (Mercury & Gemini)

3. Rescue aids (Mercury & Gemini)

4. An upgrade to the latest Orbiter Sound by DanSteph (Mercury)

While looking for Air-to-Ground chatter for the Apollo program, I ran across a site that has the MA-6 flight cockpit recording for the full flight. They are in RealAudio format but may be useful to an audio wizard for making a sound pack similar to the AMSO sound packs.

I can't find the link to them at the moment ( sorry folks ) but I do have them and will send them to anyone who wants them as they are freely availible for public download. Just send me a PM and let me know.

Both are open-source and two add-ons which have, thanks to Rob Conleys work, a very consistent code, what prevents you from improving these add-ons?

I think what would really improve mercury would be a virtual cockpit like gemini, nothing fancy just to show the crampness of the caplule. also it would be great if all the switches did something. eg the periscope and lights.

No promises, and I mean NO promises, but I can say I've started working on Mercury again. Life events have taken me away from Orbiter for a couple of years, but I'm starting to find time again, and the Project Mercury addon is something that I've always wanted to do more with.

Once I make some more progress on the code I have I plan on approaching Rob about making a branch off from his Mercury 5.0.

Stay tuned. ;)

Good to hear. I can't wait!

An Atlas-Agena would be a nice addition to Gemini. It could use estar's Atlas without the Mercury capsule and just a new mesh and animations for the Agena upper stage.

[X] You have never ever even downloaded and installed estar's "Project Gemini".

I really would want an ATDA (a.k.a. "The Angry Alligator") for Gemini IX. The launcher would be a nice addition but would not be necessary. I found a thread with this request: http://orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=1627.

80mileshigh and Saturn V actually made it already but has not been released yet.

Two ideas:

1. Recovery capability for Gemini.

2. Implementation of failure modes, like the stuck OAMS thruster in Gemini VIII.

The vernier engines in the Atlas would be a nice way to represent its attitude control system. On the visual side, it could add realism by gimballing.

I'm working on some texture repaints for Mercury. The Atlas rocket is looking good, and the Mercury capsule is somewhat more detailed. I can post a beta version of the updated textures on this thread if someone is interested.

I'm surprised that my old Atlas pad is still being used...
