Space Shuttle Ultra 1.25 Revision B development

As I wrote above: The poor performance of the inline client masks the FPS difference.
That might be the case for the aft framerate, but it doesn't explain the RMS issue. I'm also seeing joint speed errors, which didn't occur with the default client. The RMS problems aren't graphics related, so I'm not sure why they're occurring.

It seems that cntrl + A to switch to RMS control resets the RMS to it's stowed position, when starting a scenario. For the D3Dx9 client that is.

What do you mean by this? For me, the RMS doesn't move when CTRL+A is pressed.

The RMS problems appear to be due to an issue in orbiter_ng - The default shuttle also has a similar issue, where the grappled object is initially out of position when the scenario is loaded.

The RMS doesn't snap to stow, until you try to move it.

SiameseCat: If you're not too busy trying to track down the FPS drain and RMS bugs, do you think you could implement the Centaur/CISS panel I checked in a while ago?

My thinking on that was that it could be toggled on/off through a mission file parameter, like "EnableCentaur=TRUE|FALSE".

Something to transport the payloads in:

The Payload Canister as of this post:

Something else that has been in the works. New textures for the orbiter radiator panels, now with the correct markings. They're shown in this screenshot with a normal map in the D3D9Client. I had to correct the texture mapping on the radiator panels in the mesh for the textures to line up properly.

SSU_Orbiter_New_radiator_panel_texture.jpg

---------- Post added at 04:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:06 AM ----------

Checked in a revision to the new PLB radiator panel textures. Now the hinge line markings have the correct size.

Another thing is that something is seriously draining the fps when you're in one of the aft flightdeck views. Also the RMS digital readouts on A8 always show negative(-) even when the numbers should be positive.
PanelA8 problems should be fixed now.

I think have discovered a bug either in the atmospheric flight model implementation or the Flight Control System: When you start the KSC 33 HAC Test scenario, the orbiter starts to yaw back and forth(checking both the SPI and external view, it shows the rudder is active) despite no manual yaw control inputs have been made.

The FCS is trying to maintain 0 degrees sideslip. When the KSC 33 HAC Test scenario starts, the sideslip is about 30 degrees. Also, the orbiter initially has a pitch rate of 6 deg/s, which the FCS tries to take out.

It seems like the guidance that the HUD uses could need some work as it is near impossible to keep the guidance diamond centered and it seems like the guidance is confused over where the HAC is as it tends to shift around alot.

---------- Post added at 09:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:03 AM ----------

CRTMFD is back to its old buggy self again. This time it seems like MM302 OMS ignition is out. No OMS ignition at TIG.

CRTMFD really needs a look over.

Confirmed, actually to override the bug when in MM302, at TIG-10sec you need to do OPS 303 PRO, then ITEM 22 EXEC to reload targets. Exec should start flashing again. But this method is conflicted with real procedures.

It seems to work for me. Are you pressing EXEC on the keyboard once 'EXEC' starts flashing on the screen? This is required to enable the burn. Also, does OPS 202 work, or does it have the same issue?

No EXEC flashing at all. I'll try MM202.

---------- Post added at 01:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:01 AM ----------

Seems like MM202 is busted as well. EXEC starts flashing as soon as I enter ITEM 22 EXEC. And burn timer is counting up instead of down despite the TIG being ten minutes into the future!

CRTMFD is a :censored: mess! I can't recall any other part of SSU that has had the same amount of repeated bugs or new ones that CRTMFD has. We should seriously evaluate if we really want to still have it, if this is what we're going to be stuck with.

Critical displays are either missing or incomplete. Repeated troubles with existing ones.

To borrow a line from Apollo 13:

How do I check it, to see if it's working ?

No EXEC flashing at all. I'll try MM202.

Everything seems to be working for me. Are you sure the TIG is in the future? What you've described sounds very much like the TIG is in the past, and this is confusing the GPC code.

From the STS-1 on-orbit scenario, can you try the following steps:

  1. Open CRTMFD GPC screen.
  2. Put DAP in INRTL.
  3. OPS 202 PRO
  4. ITEM 7-5.7+5.7 EXEC
  5. ITEM 11+2 EXEC
  6. ITEM 19-35+54-0.8 EXEC
  7. ITEM 22 EXEC
  8. ITEM 27 EXEC
  9. Put DAP in AUTO.
  10. Arm OMS engines.
  11. Wait for EXEC to start flashing (15 sec before TIG).
  12. Press EXEC.
  13. OMS engines should ignite at TIG.
For me, this works without any problems.

In that scenario it works. But in this scenario, it doesn't:

This is essentially a scenario problem. We currently have 2 different time sources, the MTU subsystem and a MET variable stored in the main Atlantis class. In the scenario you posted, these values don't agree. This messes up the timing, which is why the OMS isn't working (the Orbiter displays one MET value, but is using a different value internally). I'll change the code so we only have one time source (the MTU), which should fix this issue.
