Space Shuttle Ultra 1.25 Revision B development

Looks like we need to send somebody to the museum again.

That's not too bad an idea. I saw Discovery in the spring of 2012 but after just looking through my pictures, I didn't have any good views of the needed areas.:( Too bad I live 8 hr drive away from DC.

I live near the Cape, too bad it's in Massachusetts.

I would have to cross the Atlantic Ocean for that...

Will the shuttle Mock-up at JSC be ok? I could get ya some pics.

Marvel at this full-scale, high-fidelity replica of the Space Shuttle. Parked outside Space Center Houston, you can enjoy the shuttle before you even walk in the door. Measuring 122.7 feet long and 54 feet high, this replica gives you the look and feel of an actual shuttle. That’s because it was built by shuttle contractors using NASA schematics, blueprints and documents. Since it’s arrival in 2012, the shuttle is one of our most popular attractions.

Thanks. I really appreciate all the time you have taken to help out on this. The wing is nearly ready except for two areas: the elevon cove areas on aft section of the wing. Have anyone come across any good photos of those areas?

The elevon coves are the the space between the aft compartment and the outboard elevon and the space between the inboard elevon and the outboard elevon.

Can you show me specifically what part you need the shots of? I have more available than what I posted earlier in this thread, I might have it in a different picture.

he needs the space between the elevons. The space between the 2 elevons and the space between the elevon and the body

So basically, just the aft edge of the wing, all the way up to the body? Lemme check.

Edit: Doesn't look like I have one in the pictures I took. Ill try to see if my family took any of that area.

Oh, if someone goes to see Atlantis, I think somewhere in there is a big color diagram of the SSME, with ALL the pipes and stuff. Please take a good picture (or 50 ) of that, as the couple of pics I've seen on the interwebs aren't good/close enough. Thanks!

Donamy: Could you take a look on what you could do really enhance the main orbiter texture? Here's the very latest revision I'm using. I really want the orbiter to look its best now that we have the opportunity to give it the attention it hat has needed for a while.

BTW, for texturing purposes, here's the completed OMS pod, including the OME nozzle and heatshield: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24122088/Complete_OMS_pod.ac

Let me know if you need good hi-res photos.

Oh no! WHY????

If I had known that I could have gotten it for you a few weeks ago...

:hailprobe:

Shame on you !!!!

;)

Well I didnt know I had to photograph EVERYTHING

but I had a distinct urge to document just about everything I could at the time. I could have spent a week studying the interiors of the Gemini & Mercury capsules.

Donamy: If you decide to take up the task of improving the texture, then please maintain the shape of the WLE RCC panel textures. I have verified that they're correct and good.

OH hey no problem your welcome. Happy to help! :P
Thanks for the shots but they're of no help actually. Especially the last one, as it shows the trailing edge(TE) of the wing where the wing interfaces with the outboard elevon. That's none of the elevon coves. There's actually structural elements located in the elevon coves that I need photos of.

Here's a photo with the four elevon coves circled:

Here's detail from the link I posted; the cove between the inboard and outboard elevons on the right wing of Discovery. Does this help?

No, it does not. It's too dark as the cove is in shadow. Thanks anyway.

A shot of the OMS mapped.
