HUMAN SPACE EXPLORATION
An Orbiter Scenario by Tex

This is my first attempt at releasing a scenario I've created and enjoyed playing. I may release more in the future if there is an interest. Happy Orbiting!

INSTALL:

Extract the package to your Orbiter folder.

NOTE: There are a lot of spacecraft in this scenario. This has only been tested on a high end machine, so the lower end machines may not be able to run this scenario. Please let me know if you encounter any problems. Also make sure you have all of the required addons installed!

FLIGHTS & CHALLENGES:

  1. Takeoff in GL-02 from Wideawake and rendezvous with Deepstar in LEO. Resupply Deepstar with your cargo, then return to Wideawake International.
  2. Plan a flight to Neptune in Deepstar. Upon arrival, transfer into orbit around Triton and use the landers to land at the Prelude Base on the surface of Triton.
  3. Take off in GL-03 from the Prelude Base on Mars and resupply the ESS in high Mars orbit. Return to the base once completed.
  4. Takeoff in GL-05 from the surface of Titan and rendezvous with Station Cerez in high Saturn orbit. (Becareful not to burn up while climbing through Titan's thick atmosphere!)
I moved crew members from all DGIV's landed at prelude bases into the base and powered down all of the systems. The DGIV's docked to space stations in which you can't offload the crew are powered down, with the exception of life support systems. You'll need to check those DGIV's docked to space stations when the scenario loads to ensure the 'Dock Input Pressure' is on.

GL-01 -> Docked to ESS in [High Mars Orbit]
GL-02 -> Wideawake Intl. (Departure to Deepstar approaching)
GL-03 -> Landed at Mars Prelude Base (Crew in the base)
GL-04 -> Docked at Station Cerez [High Saturn Orbit]
GL-05 -> Parked at Titan Prelude Base (Crew in the base) [Saturn Moon]
GL-06 -> Parked at Ophelia Prelude Base (Crew in base) [Uranus Moon]

To not transfer just for transfer's sake...

Places to arrive and links to some cool addons. Downloading now. Thanks!

UPDATED

I found that the crew on one of the DGIV's was dead, so I moved crew members from all DGIV's landed at prelude bases into the base and powered down all of the systems. The DGIV's docked to space stations in which you can't offload the crew are powered down, with the exception of life support systems. You'll need to check those DGIV's docked to space stations when the scenario loads to ensure the 'Dock Input Pressure' is on. The updated scenario can be downloaded from this post or my original post above.

GL-01 -> Docked to ESS in [High Mars Orbit]
GL-02 -> Wideawake Intl. (Departure to Deepstar approaching)
GL-03 -> Landed at Mars Prelude Base (Crew in the base)
GL-04 -> Docked at Station Cerez [High Saturn Orbit]
GL-05 -> Parked at Titan Prelude Base (Crew in the base) [Saturn Moon]
GL-06 -> Parked at Ophelia Prelude Base (Crew in base) [Uranus Moon]

RANT...

A quick rant and rave!

Yes! This has been the add on I was looking for. All the moons!

My home computer is not the fastest desk scorcher there is and can take it no problems (1,8 Ghz w/ 512 Vid Mem Nvidia). This plus Pluto and Charon (with my own additions of Hydra and Nix), the dwarf planets add ons and a few of the asteroid and comet add ons, and my Orbiter system installation finally "feels" complete.

Thanks for this one above all of the links. Don't know why I could not find it before with the search, but I would vote for its recommendation if you are one of those sticklers for detail, too...

This has been great fun, thanks for putting this together. One question, hope it's not too silly I'm still fairly new to Orbiter. How can I land on the prelude bases when they don't show up as bases or spacecraft? In other words I can go to them via select ship, but I cannot find them when in other ships.

many thanks

Thanks for playing it! I use a combination of the MapMFD and Docking MFD with the base selected as a target to land there.

Dan also created a Shadow pad add-on for Prelude. It can be found here: http://orbiter.dansteph.com/index.php?disp=dgIVMore&DId=37

Just FYI. You can give each one their own transponder.

I also created a pack with every stock location on the Map in Orbiter plus some. It can be found here:

http://orbiter.dansteph.com/index.php?disp=dgIVMore&DId=88

Sometimes, the best packages are the older ones

Since I am "pimping" addons, you might also like my classic NASA skin for the DGIV at this link:

http://orbiter.dansteph.com/index.php?disp=dgIVMore&DId=78

That has easily been one of the most downloaded DGIV skins of all time. Dan has a lot of other cool add-ons like the UMMU capable ISS and others you should checkout on his site.

Sorry. I started going :offtopic: Have Fun!

Thanks guys, I wanted some good answers not great ones!

That was just the info I was looking for now I can run the scenario as intended and not have to land at Olympus and ask directions :P

The Titan to Ceres station run was my favorite Orbiter trip so far, was just epic approaching the huge Ceres station in the DGIV with Saturn in the background. Made me forget all about the two DGIV's I burnt up learning how to escape Titan.

Excellent work on that skin Sunshine, that's my new fav. Would of replied sooner but had to take it up for a quick spin :)

Thanks again
