Question Rising Sun fata morgana?

I took this image of a rising Sun over the Black Sea:

Notice the dark dots along the horizon where the Sun still touches it. No islands are supposed to be in this direction. Do you think it's a fata morgana, or have I captured an image of a ship refracted up from behind the horizon? In reality it looked very much like a cargo ship under way and some moments later it wasn't there anymore.

That would be my vote. The time of day would also be right for a nice inversion layer. Nice photo, whichever way you look at it :speakcool:
