Hi all,

I am looking to publish a tutorial, but I need a free .PDF editor to make it before I can do so.

Do you have any ideas?

Thanks.

Open Office's word processor can export to PDF. If you want to see a sample of a finished product, I used it to do this tutorial:

Like the rest of Open Office, it's somewhat clumsy to use (IMO) compared to similar commercial apps, but it is free.

Yep, my choice. Open Office is still free too (for a while at least, who knows what will happen with the Sun Microsystems acquisition).

Of the various flavours available, my preference if for OxygenOffice.

Another good alternative is Scribus. This is a document compositing tool, an acceptable alternative to Quark, that also produces output in pdf format.

It's also another freebie.

Foxit PDF editor. I know the reader is free, but not sure if the editor is.

Sort of. If I recall correctly, there is a shareware version of the Foxit editor but it stamps big obnoxious watermarks on the finished product.

Interestingly, the only free pdf editor I've been able to find that can also edit finished pdfs and not just output from some other format is one that runs only in Linux.
