Armstrong Comms Help.jpg

Author: anemazoso

The Comms dish at Armstrong has been disabled! A freak micro meteor has struck the signal Transmitting device. Existing lunar communications satalites do not have the data capacity needed for Armstrong so the Director of Armstrong has requested that a comms sat be launched from Earth and placed in lunar orbit.

Use the DGIV Eagle1 stationed at Overton Island and previously integrated with the Mak-Sat payload. The crew is prepaired and ready so exit them from Prelude base Overton and load them into Eagle1, power up Eagle1 and proceed to EuroStation. Refuel at Eurostation for the trip to Lunar orbit where you will deploy the Mak-Sat at an orbit of 1200mx1200m. After satalite deployment land at Armstrong base. Good luck!

***Add-on's required for this scenario***
-DeltagliderIV
-Prelude Base
-Ummu
-Ess space station
-Overton Island
-Armstrong Lunar Base.

===Set your DGIV to 15 day O2 and ISS trip for fuel===

The other question I had...if the transmitter at the base is damaged, how will putting a new satellite in orbit help? You won't be able to get any more data off the base than you already can...

Plus, this is just a scenario (with quite a few dependencies, too). Sigh.

Sorry, I never put together good scenarios for my add-ons so I thought I would do one that was more than a DG parked at a pad.

Yes it was suppose to be 1200km1200km. So much for my first foray into scenarios.... guess it will be the last. :embarrassed::blackeye:

Hahaha, you should see my custom scenarios folder. Makes the OFSS requirements look mild.

Don't worry about it. Personally, I like the challenge type scenarios but it may be better to post them here on the forum (we even have a special place for them), rather than uploading them to OH. I'm also a fan of Overton and Armstrong, so keep 'em coming.

The crew might have some shorter-range comms equipment that is not powerful enough to contact Earth but could make contact with an orbiting satellite, or whose signal may be bounced by sat to another Moonbase.
