Question What kind of car do you drive or wish to own?

Currently: Hyundai ix35
Wish to: Fusion-powered Tesla Model S :)
Seriously, something smaller and more efficient. I have unproportionally long legs, which severely limit my options.

Haven't actually thought much about efficiency (fitting into the car was always priority #1), before renting Chevrolet Orlando for a few days on vacation this summer.
500km over mountainous roads later it still had a quarter of a tank left.
Even with European gas prices it's still cheaper to drive than ix35 (350km on one same-size tank on flat roads).

Currently: Volkswagen Golf IV (1J)
Ordered: Volkswagen Polo V (6C)
...

Wet-Dream car: BMW i8

The new car will be a major upgrade in terms of efficiency...

Car | Dry weight | Engine | Power | l/100km
Current|1180|1.4l|55 kW|6.6
Ordered|1200|1.2l TSI BlueMotion|66 kW|4.7

Current: 1999 Peugeot 106, Brilliant little monster with no power strearing no roll bars and is so simple that I can do most maintenance on it with out having to send it to the garage.

Wish to own a: [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotus_Evora"]Lotus Evora[/ame] But more realistically I would settle for a Hybrid or an electric car.

A first generation Smart Fortwo (nicer than the second generation, which has an ugly rear IMHO).
I guess I will keep it until I need more seats... But I certainly don't need anything faster.

Dream: Uhh, Car? Nah, PPL and some nice small plane :P.
As I would still need a car... I'd like something that's independent from fossil fuels.

What I drive now: 1990 Honda Civic DX, 1.5l fuel injected, with 260000 miles (418500 km to the rest of the world :P ).

What I'd like to drive: I have no idea. The Civic is easy to maintain, has decent fuel economy for its age, and I'm comfortable with driving it. Even if it's a little beaten up.

Almost said the same. Looking at probably a C152 in the next couple of years. Maybe a C172 or even a Cherokee eventually.

I'm driving a 2003 Honda Odyssey bought from my parents. It has 236,000 km. This baby went from Québec to Florida and then back to Québec :P

It is exactly this color. The only difference from this picture is the missing bug and stone deflector on the hood.

My dream car would be a 1968 Ford Mustang GT, the same as Steve McQueen drove in Bullit. But in a near future, I want to buy a much smaller car, drinking less fuel than the Odyssey (because she pumps around 13L/100 km during the summer, and up to 15L/100km during the winter... Ouch!)

I, of course, don't own a car (not exactly necessary in Hong Kong :P, plus I failed the driving exam late last year ).

Well if I need one I think I will be happy with a tried n' true model like the Toyota Corolla (sorry Urwumpe, but Volkswagen and Audi models are pretty expensive and not easy to maintain here :shifty:), though if given the choice I would jump ship for a hybrid or even electric car model if they are cheap enough (shame that there are not many Tesla models on this side of the world yet).

I want to have a Toyota Corolla someday.

or should I just take public transport/taxis? It saves you money over the expenses of buying and maintaining a car, but you have less freedom.

No deal  I am pretty sure, those cars are pretty expensive and not easy to maintain everywhere on this planet.

Currently: Still a 2008 Ford Edge as I say back in this topic.
Wish to: Big ol' pickup truck. Like a Ford F-150, V8, preferably diesel, running boards, and honest-to-goodness trailer hitch, and a big ol' diamond-steel toolbox in the bed!

No car. I use a combination of a bicycle and public transit. Plus the occasional ride from someone.

We've got a Nissan Armada currently, and a Ford F-350.

What would I like to have? A bright red 67 Mustang, with loud pipes.

2002 Ford Taurus aka 2002 POS

Admittedly, it has about 193k miles (~310.6/km) on it. But I've had to have a lot of work done on it to get it this far. Coolant system has broken at weld points (twice), alignment has gone out the window and ruined 2 tires. About a month ago the A/C compressor seized so I had to have that replaced.

My goal at this point is 200k miles, but I'd like to get it to 225k minimum.

Luckily its no Volkswagen... you know what happens at 200,000 ...

(My old car just barely made it to 145,000 km in 14 years... )

Currently we've got a 2011 Ford Ka with the 1.2 liter engine:

It basically is a Fiat 500 mechanically and is built on the same assembly line in Poland.

and a 2012 Ford Focus Station Wagon with the 1 liter engine:

Previously we had a 1996 Ford Ka and a 2002 Focus. :)
