Is there a 2010 compatable version of the STS Guidance MFD?

I'm trying to get it to work with shuttle fleet v4.5- the orbit information option works perfectly, but something's going on when I try to input data in either 2,3, or 4, I get the following problem. After I select either of these options, the MFD tells me to hit Shift+T to enter the data, whether it be an altitude adjustment or a plane aligmnent/rendezvouz target. If I hit shift+T, the entry box comes up without a problem. But when I enter the data, the text about hitting shift+T in the MFD disappears, and nothing happens. If I switch from VC to 2d panel, or go to the external view and then back inside, the MFD resets itself to the same instructions about hitting shift+T, as if the input isn't working.

Are there any ways to fix this, or am I doing something wrong? I'm quite new to orbiter so the only reason I'm trying to get this working is so I can follow along in a space shuttle tutorial to the ISS and back. So if this MFD is now obsolete, are there any MFD's that have a similar function and will work as a substitute?

thanks

58 people have now viewed this topic. Could someone please just tell me if the STS Guidance & Command MFD, available at avsim as "sts-guidance-mfd_beta_3c.zip," works with Orbiter 2010, or is it me that's doing something wrong?

If no one is using the Guidance & Command MFD in Orbiter 2010, can anyone suggest an alternative? Should I just use the default align plane and sync MFD's? Or is there simething a bit more accurate?

thanks

I doubt that as 2003 MFD will work inOrbiter 2010. Try UNIVPTG MFD it worjks in 2010.

STS Guidance MFD and UNIVPTG MFD doesn't do the same tasks.

STS Guidance provides auto-guidance for plane alignments and rendezvous while UNIVPTG MFD only provides rotational attitude control and a rudimentary Digital Autopilot(DAP).

thanks for the reply-

Alright- but how do I use the universal pointing MFD to align orbits, rendezvous, and change orbit altitude? All I've figured out on my own is to get it to point prograde for me.

That STS Guidance and Comman MFD let you enter in the dimensions of the orbit, and the autopilot would automatically burn to place you in that orbit without you having to do anything. Same for the plane alignment and rendezvous- you just enter the target and the autopilot takes care of the rest. I know that it's possible to do things like that manually, but this way is more precise and fuel-efficient.

So if I can in fact do the above with the Universal Pointing MFD, I'd love to know how. I've done numerous searches in the forum and w/ google but haven't been able to find more in-depth information about how to use it. Is there a more complete manual or a tutorial somewhere?

thanks a lot

overlapped posts-

So if I can't use the pointing MFD for that, is there anything else? What are people using Shuttle Fleet v4.5 currently doing for interceptions/orbit changes? The auto FCS does a great job of landing, and the launch autopilot works fine, but I just need help with doing everything in between. Like I said before, I know I can do it the manual way, but I'd like it to be more accurate.

thanks
