Have you mor than just a joystick?

you guys are actually lucky - you get to pay the "real" price for this kind of hardware... in Brazil, with our criminal, dictatorship-like taxes on electronic imports - an x52 goes for over one grand :uhh::facepalm::thumbsdown:

luckily, in my case, i ordered it online and had it delivered to my parent's friend's house in North Carolina - in which they planned a week-long stay during a trip.... then they conveniently "smuggled" it back here for me  - i did the same when i got my space-navigator (they don't even sell those here)

we all do those sorts of things around here .... it's not considered an "import" if it's less than 500 bucks and you bring it in your luggage :shifty:

I use a Saitek X52 which I also use for FSX. I have CH pedals put away somewhere, they're the gameport kind, which I can get to work with a USB adapter I bought from Radio Shack, but it's just too twitchy that way. Win7 won't recognize my gameport, so it's twitchy rudder or nothing. Right now I'm opting for nothing save for the twist capability of the X52 stick.

By next summer we should have some significant bills paid off, at which time I plan to buy a new computer, along with the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke & throttles. That's the plan anyway. Life has a funny way lately of deciding what I'm really going to spend my money on LOL.

well, how do you give 12 percent thrust with keyboar?

I only fly with Joystick.

I use my laptop, with an external numeric pad, and sometimes a 2 axis stick. Been doing that for years, and it simply works.

I have a Logitech Attack 3 joystick, witch I use with orbiter, and a Saltek Dual analog pad witch I use for other purposes (it looks and feels just like a PS1 controller)

:jawdrops:You must tell me immediately where I can get one. That combined with two joysticks and a seperate throttle control AND Pedals = Orbiter Epicness.

Off topic::probe::jawdrops:Sorry I just had to do that.

Edit:
Win7 won't recognize my gameport, so it's twitchy rudder or nothing.
Have you tried using xPadder? You can adjust the sensitivity and deadzones. (You should be able to with pedals)

using X52 here, although I have to admit that I'm not much of a stick-jockey. I mean, I'm doing interplanetary flights most of the time, very little re-entry and landing, so I'm doing a lot with autopilots anyways. Plus, I have to admit that ctrl+keys is a lot more convieniant in the final docking aproach than is the stick. I did, however map 0.1 second bursts of cntrl+keys to one of my hats, which gives me quite exceptional control...

I also use only about 1% of my orbiter time using the joystick, namely runway approaches. Everything else I do with keyboard or autopilots. It's just more precise.
