Favorite game of All time? Besides Orbiter? Tie between the following:

Morrowind (better than Oblivion in many ways)
XCOM 1
Halo 1
Sports Car GT
FSX
Tachyon: The Fringe
Wing Commander 1 (SNES)& 3 (3DO)
Metalstorm (NES)
Rainbow Six series (PC only - didn't like the PlayStation port of R6)
Splinter Cell series
Age of Empires II & Conquerors Expansion

**Edit** And yes, I think there is a duplicate thread out there somewhere. I remember compiling a similar list some time ago. :P

I've been playing since the early '80s so the list would be a little long...
Anyway my (recent) favourites are:

- the Silent Hill series
- the Legend of Zelda series
- GTA: Vice City

And I'd say Grid Wars 2 is worth your time...

Now, for all-time:
SimCity 3000/4
Age of Empires II
Empire Earth
RollerCoaster Tycoon series
Gran Turismo 3
Ace Combat 4
Call of Duty 2 (only good one in the whole FPS genre)
Oblivion
Ratchet and Clank 3
Peace Walker (favorite PSP game)

Currently for singleplayer, Rainbow Six: Raven Shield (again...).
As for multiplayer, I have to go with Project Reality, which is a mod for Battlefield 2 and recently won Mod of the Year. This is actually my favorite ever since I learned of it years ago. So far, nothing even came close in terms of shooters.

PC-wise, I've been rolling back around with Freelancer as the boys over at orbiter radio will know...
+1 for Freelancer, I recently dusted that off as well. Although, I was somewhat disappointed at how short the single-player story is--I had remembered it being longer. Once the single-player story is over, the game loses a lot of its appeal :(

One of the more beautiful aspects of Freelancer is of course the modding community which still exists for it, though. Several of them add some serious replay value to the game, even as old as it's getting now.

Many of the Atari 2600 games played through emulation.
Doom 1 and 2, especially the UAC_DEAD .wad level.
X-plane flight sim.
All the classic Arcade games from 1989 and earlier.
Apple ][ games - too numerous to list, again through emulation.

Mostly Sims like FSX but from time to time I get me EvE account going (lvl4s in a Tengu are just too easy) and pay in Plexs mostly but sometimes I dont play enough and have to pay with real money! lol

Atm im playing BF2 Bad Company and Empire Total War (shame it has so many game breaking bugs even after being out for more than a year!) and Space Shuttle Sim 2007. Space Shuttle Sim 2010 should be out before christmas otherwise they will have to rename it SSM2011 lolol.

Also I like Dwarf Fortress, though it is less video than game.

I tried that game. I played it for a few weeks on and off, reading AARs, manuals, reading and asking in the forums, trying stuff. No matter what I did, my dwarves kept dying horrible deaths, again and again. I thought I had a thing going when I survived the couple of years after almost a week of frustration, but things just went downhill from there. I appreciate challenge in a game, but this one takes it from the "learn orbital mechanics to plot interplanetary trajectories" kind of challenge to more of a "achieve nirvana and catch flies with chopsticks while levitating" kind of challenge.

This picture illustrates it pretty well:

Arma 2, Sims, Superpower 2, and a bunch of other simulators. I do love OOT and Majora's Mask.

Finally got AOE II working on my computer again; been playing that for the last few hours. Man, I've missed it. :)
