World Space Agency (WSA)

Backstory:
In 2015 the United Nations started to become an independant body like the European Union, the United Nations council came to the conclusion that all the rich nations had a powerful space agency and the poorer nations did not because of the high costs, they also came to the conclusion that space funding could be easier on the economy if the cost was shared out by all the nations instead of one nation funding all the costs. So on April 12th 2016 the World Space Agency (WSA) was formed. It is run by NASA, RKA, ESA, CSA, and JAXA combined.

Project:
This will be an addon with my own spacecraft and launchers, maybe some other addons will be used but i will gain the authors permission first. I might use the Ariane 6 or the Soyuz FG/U to start with.

Missions:
At first the WSA may have to use existing launchers because its own are being designed tested etc. I am planning to start off with missions to Lunar and Earth orbit, the other planets will follow afterwards.

Development Timeline:
A full release should be completed by Q4 2011, updates should follow after.

Space will be controled by super powers like the US Russia and China everybody else leave it to the big boys.

If the WSA is ran anything like the UN then i'd have to say no thank you. Nothing would get done lol

No it is not run by the UN, it is run by NASA, RKA, ESA, CSA, and JAXA combined.

The WSA is there so there is not such a strain on the world Economy.

It still wouldnt work out. PLus the UN is not unified like a country but is more like a guideline where people pretend to follow.

I didnt say it started as unified, i am saying it is the future and new pacts, deals and alliances is starting to unify it.

I think leaving it to individual countries to develop and sharing information between them is the best bet

A nation does not HAVE to join the WSA.

Lets see how this works out, i dont want to critisize anything im not 100% sure of.
and how do i join? is there a site up yet?

To start off development i will create an independant base for the WSA. It will be located on the west coast of Borneo, on the equator line:

Thanks , this will most likely be the launch site for the WSA, if i can get Wehaveaproblem's permission i will use Ascension Island Ultra also (when it is released).

I like the overall idea. Will it be UN or not, people need to combine their efforts to achieve anything big in space explorations. In fact, i was running space operations of this kind recently with Energia, Jarvis/Antares and Ariane5. And soon Antares 2.0 will be released. You could use this hardware if you'd like to, it's really cool.

The first few missions will use existing launchers because the WSA will have their own hardware in planning, testing etc.

what ships are going to be used?
and for this VSA, are there lunar bases, space stations, maybe even a base on Europa?

I've not voted in your poll because I don't know if it is a good idea or not. I still don't understand if you are planning on your own VSA being open or closed. If it's a closed VSA and you are planning a series of missions and add ons from it then, yes. It is a very good idea and I wish you luck.

If it's an open VSA and you are inviting people to join you and fly missions then it MIGHT be a good idea.

I've spent the past two years building up my own single person VSA and recently I've opened it up for membership but I'm still struggling to work out the best method for integrating the orbiter community with my VSA and giving them missions to fly plus now that it's opened I'm feeling a duty and pressure to provide updates and give the members missions to fly so I'm starting to wonder if it's worth it.
As a closed VSA it didn't matter if I walked away from it for a few months to do something else as the only person who was flying was me.

Either way I do wish you all the luck in the solar system.

At the moment a space station is planned but i will try to make the technology realistic so a manned flight to Europa might be out of the question.

Thanks for the advice garyw . As of yet i do not know whether to make it open or closed, first i would like to make the base, launchers etc, before i decide.

And how long until this VSA starts? i got exams in march so i wont be able to do any missions now, but after march im free :)
