News Orbiter copyright infringement?

Hate to say this folks, just bought my May 2011 copy of Electronics World:

There inside the back cover is the same advert.

Do you like to write letters? ...

Perhaps a short note in a friendly tone to these magazines, commending the readership to a fine computer program would achieve the best result here?

I'd say Martin or the designer of the VC should write any letters that get written.

This may surprise some, but I'm upset by it.

They have a forum on that website. I am really tempted to go on there and defend orbiter and the "doc". But something tells me maybe I should back off and let the "doc" handle it. So thats what I am going to do.

To me this represents a cheap advertising ploy to profit from the creative work of another meant to introduce and enlighten people about the wonders of spaceflight in an educational and informative manner.

I'm offended when I perceive people capitilizing on the religious beliefs of others. I don't subscribe to religious notions but it sickens me none the less.

This bothers me more. I've made off the cuff remarks in the past, but they were desperate ones without any real intentions on my part. I fell in love--no, love can't describe it... I was enraptured when I first discovered Orbiter. In an instant I could see an endless number of beautiful possibilities regarding space flight simulation. I can only describe it as a cosmological singularity resulting from colliding branes in the tiny space between my ears. The level of quality with Orbiter enables me to appreciate space flight just as much if not more than the real thing. The open nature of the Orbiter API was reminiscent of my opensource background. I remember desperately searching for a linux port. The panic in my heart when I couldn't find one. The paradoxes I began to wrongly perceive in my mind when realized there wasn't one. Surely wine couldn't support something as sophisticated as Orbiter,,. I didn't require professional intervention, but for all intents and purposes I went bonkers. And I've loved every minute of it since. I was a stellar mass black hole before I found Orbiter. Thanks to Dr. Schweiger and the Orbiter Community I shine once more. The only theoretical cosmological example I could use to describe this would be a closed universe where we're all trapped in a singularity, expanding and contracting.

I can't remember the last time I had a cigarette after twenty years of nicotine addiction. I'm simply too engrossed in what I'm doing to get up and walk away from the computer. A month ago I let my Dr.'s reccommendation lapse. Every member of the Orbiter Community is a star to me. I'll be forever indebted to it. I want to run as many scenarios as I can before I join with the force to sweeten the experience. I want it to become as second nature to me as playing music.

If someone is needed to harass these guys, send me a PM. I'll take great pleasure in it.

If you need help with legal letter-heads I'm here to help.

Free on-line fax/facsimile to UK:

And certainly ***nothing whatsoever*** should be sent on legal letter head except by Martin or the designer of the VC (or maybe the person who took the screenie if we can figure that out). If you send it on legal letter head you are acting like you have some legal stake in the copyrights in question, which could cause confusion on the part of the people who published the ad as to just who actually does own the rights. At best it will make you look stupid, at worst it could make things a ton more difficult for Martin and/or the designer of the VC when/if they get involved.
