I have two questions here.

1) How do I easily reenter the DGIV from, say, Mir? I mainly want to practice manual reentry and activating the reentry autopilot. Information is needed.

2) How do I manuever UMMUs during EVA?

:hailprobe:

1) By installing the UMMUFA addon.
2) By reading the on-line help available through pressing "H"

EDIT: Re - 1) Are you going to re-enter EARTH in a DGIV from Mir ORBIT? If so, reading the manual is recommended, you have to also install BaseSync, AeroBrake, Glideslope MFDs for easier targeting. There are quite a few tutorials here at OF, the keyword is reentry.

Autopilots on the DGIV are a bit hard to find - you have to enter a code into the virtual flight computer to get them. The codes are all in the DGIV's manuals... somewhere....

2)
You can steer and move UMMUs just like other vessels in Orbiter. Rotate and translate modes are both available - toggle between them with numpad /.

1) practice, and doing your homework, once you know HOW to do it, its quite easy. my tutorial (Ripely's link above) uis a full walkthrough

2)UMMU have their own RCS system, you control them like a spacecraft with no main engines (Use LIN mode to move around and ROT to change attitude)
