One of the reasons I'm happy to be in the Star Trek fandom (since 2009) is because of the prevalent creator-bashing in the Star Wars fandom.

(although there are the TOS purists as well and those complaining about the JJ Abrams reboot)

I'd have to admit, I'm a TOS purist. In my opinion Voyager and Enterprise (NX-01) are massively overrated. Saying that; I do like Deep Space Nine and The Next Generation along with The Original Series.

In summary; Tribbles (a.k.a. Donald Trump's legendary toupee room) were the best. :P

This just "popped" at me in the local newspaper. I had to do it:

I was being sarcastic. What would you have put?

So was I. Its John Young, one cool customer. Flew the first Gemini ,Apollo 10, Apollo 16, STS-1, STS-9, would have flown on the mission that deployed the Hubble Space Telescope had STS-51L been successful.

Pretty impressive dude, so, I was just playing on that.

No ill intent from me, just fun and games. :tiphat:

George Lucas is the luckiest SOB on the face of the planet. The guy can't direct, he can't write dialogue, he can't edit, everything with the damn green screen, no clue how to pace, no clue how to not let the special effects outshine the actors, no clue on how digital video actually works (look at his "Definitive" cut of Star Wars Special Edition, where his "Experts" at ILM and Skywalker ranch butcher the sound mix, crush the blacks to the point where the image actually looses detail, the colours do not match and thus we get things like pink lightsabers, and the idiot shot Episode II in DVCPRO! Which for those who do not know, is a natvie 720P/1080i codec. So when the next level of TV standard comes in the future, all those movies shot in film stock or 4k video will be able to produce next-gen copies, Star Wars II will look just like it does now.

And J J Abrams.....if I wasn't such a fan of lens flares. The more I see his Star Trek film, the more disappointed I am. The thing was a mess. So much potential, so much fertile ground for an impressive story about Kirk in the academy. And what do we get? Kirk eating an apple, acting like a total tool during the Kobayashi Maru test.

Super 8 was an excellent film however. And for the most part, Lost was quality. Good writing, good characters, good production.

Lost was a great show. Gave me something on TV to actually watch and and be gripped by. That's kinda hard to come by. I mean sure, there are plenty of comedy shows these days, but I want something to keep me guessing, you know?

Currently Southland and The Walking Dead are the only things I'll watch on TV.

I've been meaning to pick up the Walking Dead. You think the next season would be a good time to jump in?
