Hi all,

All three of the XR-series have this scenario: Ready for Takeoff to ISS.

My record time so far in the XR2 is one hour, thirty five minutes and fifty seconds from wheels-up to hard-dock at the ISS. I used a direct ascent to transponder lock, with generous alignment burns during the ride to apoapsis to lock vectors with the station. Then I kept station with the ISS at 10 kilometers' distance until I was on the day-side and proceeded to dock.

Eliminating the night-side wait, I know I can do it quicker than that.

Anyway, just for the sake of curiosity, what's your record time to dock? What vehicle? What method did you use?

I think that i'm still holding the record for the fastest KSC to ISS flight.
My time was 9 minutes 40 seconds in a XR2 Ravenstar.

You can find a playback attached on post #5 of this thread.

For the flight i used IMFD and Docking MFD.

Oops. I did do a content search before I posted this thread, but I didn't see anything in the search engine results indicating this had already been talked about.

Saw the playback, by the way. That was a thing of total beauty. :)

What about reentry? What's the record for fastest ISS to wheels stop (any runway) in an XR2?

Good call!

I don't think that something like this has been tried.

Set up the flight and i'd be more than happy to try it.
