Why is there ice around by the theater district now? :(

Oh no! The same happened to one of my SSP worlds. Lovely summer home froze over. :(

How's the rest of the commune though? Would be a shame if the whole place got snow'd.

Woo and I just made a quick assessment. Most of the community seems fine, just parts of the bay near the theater are frozen. Will have to wait when it will actually snow. It might not be so bad though.

Seems like about half the commune will be snowed on, the rest should be fine.

The transition point seems to be right in-front of the court house.

Did the biome generation code change between 1.0 and 1.1 to cause this?

Yeah, snow fall was re-added to pine forest in 1.1, so any areas of the commune that fall into that biome will have snow / ice

The entire ranch is snowed in, too. Not really pretty. On top of that the wheat farm is broken due to frozen water

Given that pretty much the entire commune was built in a pine forest biome...oops.

I guess it's time you build a giant umbrella over the commune

Snow is fun for the first 15 minutes, but gets quite annoying after that. I recommend you do not build unsecured Snow Golems. They attack every hostile mob they see and sooner or later, a Creeper goes after a Snow Golem...

Did every chunk freeze over? It did for me.
Not all, but a vast majority did. I'd rather see simplistic seasons in Minecraft than the current discrete winter wastelands.

(Though really, it seems 1.8 was summer in that world, 1.0 became winter, and spring cometh with the 1.1 update.)

Sounds like the start to a bad joke. "A creeper goes after a snow golem..." or maybe "a creeper and a snow golem walk into a bar..."

A creeper and a snow golem walk into a bar and have a blast?
