Alright, 3rd exam of 7 now bagged. Fun week.

LBJ Memorial Gangnam?
Also, if you didn't know, even North Korea got in on the parodies. (EVERYONE is doing it)

Well, yes, if we all got together and gangnam'd in Arrowstar's theatre, I'd be all for it. But NASA...stahp...

You want NASA to stop? Really? Parodying the most watched YouTube video of all time? Reaching out to a younger demographic, showing them that science and space can be cool, and working in the spaceflight industry can be fun? Reminding a generation of near-future voters that spaceflight is important and can stay current with the world? You're right, that's a waste of time & effort.... :P

I think the rocket's going to win...

Hm, wasn't really clear on this, sorry. I intended it to mean that the space gangnam was too hilarious, not disgraceful.

I may start actually reading EULAs now.

Weeeelll, glad I don't use that site. But who knows what the sites I do use are doing? Legal operations are, after all, only a convenience.

Don't forget "We're NASA and we know it". :P

After being fertilized with a BIG capacitor and supported by a fat SCR, the bonsai money tree got restored to full health.

Joke I heard today:

The Mayan scribe comes to his chieftain, hauling a stone plate, proclaiming rather exitedly: "there, I finally finished the calendar!"

The chief looks at the end of the calender and says: "Why, it doesn't look finished to me!" "Uh, to be honest, I ran out of stone..." replies the scribe a bit embarassed. The chief takes a closer look at the whole thing and finally says: "Oh well, never mind, it'll do. But some people in 5000 years might get a bit upset about it."

If you don't pay for a product, you become the product. Glad that I don't use it.

But if you apply this to Orbiter... do you really know that you have not become the product already?

Reminds me of this:

RIP Peter Struck, blues brother, politician, biker, the minister of defense that I sadly didn't have during my ToD. (I had been a Volker Rühe era soldier... and only enjoyed the beginning of the Scharping nonsense).

Famous for the quote "The security of Germany is not only, but as well defended at the Hindukush.", and the insight, that later became known as Strucks law, that can be translated in universal form as "No law leaves parliament in the form it entered it."

Weird accidents in German history... 1988, the German submarine U-27 collided underwater with the Norwegian oil platform Oseberg B and caused large damage. The submarine managed to escape by its own power mostly unharmed. The new platform was not yet included in the navigation maps.

Lesson of the story: never trust your navigation system.

(Interestingly, the accident wasn't included in the book about German post-war submarines... but the more detailed history started with the FOST operations in 1990)

Can't tell if cigars or fireworks.
Fireworks. Definitely fireworks.

Keep your fingers safe, sitha241, it hurts a lot for a while when one blows up in your hands, and that's the best case.

Ford Prefect: "6 pints of bitter please. Keep the change, you've got about 10 minutes to spend it."
Barman: "So do you really think the world's going to end?"
Ford Prefect: "Yes."
Barman: "Shouldn't we lie down or put a paper bag over our heads or something?"
Ford Prefect: "Sure, if you like."
Barman: "Will it help?"

Ford Prefect: "Not at all."

I read all five books, and finished the last one yesterday.

I think I'll put on some light music...
