April Fools Day: xkcd

It was originally intended for April Fools Day, but I think it's clever enough to warrant its own thread.

Clicking on xkcd today; I came across this for 'Umwelt':

Well...that was interesting. The xkcd managed to reference the country I resided in. So; I checked with a friend in another country what he thought of it and he reported that he saw an xkcd referencing a snake.

Thinking this must have been some error, I checked the xkcd forums to see what it really was.

The whole thing is a April Fools Day joke, the purpose of the 'Umwelt' is that it's a different comic for Websites/ISPs/Community Networks/Locations and more.

The ISS one was actually photoshopped together by a fan on the forums (in the spirit of comic number 713), not by Randall himself.

EDIT: The Dallas one is the tornadic version of the earthquake theme. If Randall had actually spent a significant amount of time in Dallas, however, the last panel would not feature a tornado, but rather the Dallas summer heat. "It burns! It *burns* usssss!"

EDIT2: Ironically, not long after I posted that first edit, the Dallas area got hit by a tornado swarm.

Yes, for browsers that don't support Javascript, Friday's comic (1036) is the comic displayed for 1037.

I honestly found this to be the funniest xkcd because this is how all of my friends and neighbors treat hurricanes. I've stood outside in a Category 4 once, it was so cool

I get the weird wormhole one on Mobile Safari on my iPad, so I suppose that one is for everything that's not a major browser/operating system.

Must have taken a long while to make all these comics...
