some girl got head trauma at sxm

Steam cats are more powerful, that's true:yes:
But ski-jump carriers just look so cool.

"Ski-jumps" on caries are only used for VTOL jets like the AV-8B and Sea Harrier to allow them to carry more weight at take off.

I can't see Airbus or Boeing developing a VTOL jet anytime soon.

You know there's always one exception!

Admiral Kuznetsov is a special case, requiring planes that can fly out at 70 KIAS without stalling. (SU-33, SU-25, MIG-29)

Planes like that would make a holiday in St. Maarteen very expensive.

PS: But i'd sure like a go in one of those!!!

Okay, so now I want to see someone hang on to that fence behind a JATO-equipped jetliner...

ETA: who else thinks that video should turn up on Tosh.O?

Hm, JATO bottles on an Airbus. Sounds like something "Howling Mad" Murdock would do, along with an improvised sky ramp. I love it when a plan comes together.

And I pity the fool hanging to a fence behind it.

It looks like in this video plane was closer to fence than usually and the jet blast may have been stronger than expected normally because of that. Anyway she decided to hang on to a fence despite the warnings so it is entirely her fault she hit that concrete wall.
Besides I don't get what the fuss about this accident. What she did was no more dangerous than riding a MTB on fast downhill track, rock climbing or any other outdoors activity that comes with increased risk.
