Humor Sausage Wars?

Da scheint eben doch nicht alles Wurst zu sein!

Translates to "Looks like it's not all sausage to them after all".

'Bit of an ironic play upon words. In german, you can say "it's all sausage to me" (ist mir Wurst), which means "I don't care", "it's all the same to me". Making a major brouhaha about the name of a sausage is therefore rather amusing.

I'll click on anything called Sausage wars...

Sounds serious...We had a touch of politics and pasties recently:

The Chancellor in his Budget put VAT on hot food, but not on cold, so causing much confusion about hot pasties that then cool down on the counter...
Applies to pies too, I suppose.

Needless to say, its a non-story. As I understand, they collect VAT from the seller as they decide what volume of their sales are hot or cold.

Still, it kept the real politics off the front page for a while.

In Austria this kind of sausage often is named "Eitrige" (purulent) because the bits of molten cheese look a bit unhealthy :P
