This is spaceflight news, but I hate to start topics myself. 
One Number, Two Budgets - The Planetary Society
In short: Congress is offering NASA a slightly larger budget than requested, they agree on the amount, but the House and Senate bills disagree on how to spend it.
In my opinion and politics aside, I think the House bill is far superior. A focus on planetary science and exploration of the outer planets is exactly what I want to see. The Senate bill is just too focused on Mars. Mars is nice, but it's not 'throw all our money at this one thing' nice. And since the graphics show the *change* in budget, the House's decrease in Earth science is really an almost negligible change.
