Where do I go to download the Arrow freighter? I looked at the Hangar and its not there.

I already looked there, its not there. I clicked the download button and that page had a bunch of stuff, but no Arrow.

It's included in Universal Cars and Cargo pack.

Oh ok. Thanks. I guess I didn't look closely enough.

I am unable to install the Universal Cars and Cargo pack. When I try, I get a "directory invalid" error. I have Orbiter 2010 P1 also. Anyone understand this?

Maybe youre trying to install the Orbiter 2006 legacy package that he's left up? That little change he made has caused some problems, noone can find the UCGO 2.0 package anymore. The christmas updates to UMMU & UCGO are nice though :)

You need the Universal Cars and Cargos 2.5 Temporary christmas release.
Are you installing it into your Orbiter folder. It needs to find your Orbiter exe. file to install.

Yes. I ran it and selected Orbiter, then I get the following error message. A Directory Invalid pop up window, and in it it says "This addon require Orbiter 2010 P1 at least it will NOT run on Orbiter 2006. Please download the 2006 version of this addon or give a correct path to Orbiter 2010". Thats the message, word for word exactly.

The Christmas edition download is for Orbiter 2010.

I have 2010 but for some reason it won't install. Maybe I need a fresh Orbiter folder. The one I'm using is pretty old and I've done a lot to it in terms of addons.

Make sure you have both "orbiter.exe" and "orbiter_ng.exe" in your main Orbiter folder.
That's how Dan's installer checks if the installation path is good. It seems that you have not "orbiter_ng.exe".

If you have Orbiter2010, then you aren't selecting the right folder. Pick the folder where the Orbiter executable is. Even text files renamed 'orbiter.exe' and 'orbiter_ng.exe' will suffice for the installer, so wherever you're installing it is not where Orbiter is installed.

Success! Now I just have to learn how to use this ship. It looks really good. I like the dark ambiance or look that the Arrow has, inside and out. In this sense it feels like a spacecraft from the Alien movies or something. :tiphat:

Question

Is it possible to transfer my XR2 crew to the Arrow Freighter while docked to it while up in orbit? I want to do this before heading out on a long flight in the AF with the XR2 docked in the docking bay.

AF

I did it yesterday.

I just did it while on the ground at CSSC. I simply walked each crew member from the XR2 to the AF. After doing this I understand how it works, so doing it in space should be similar.:)

Isn't the XR2 Ummu compatible?
I always use the DGIV as a 'landing ship' and while docked in the bay I can transfer the crew via transfer display on the lower panel.

The XR-2 is UMMU compatible and it's quite possible to transfer crew from the XR-2 to the Arrow and back again.

When I tried it while docked in the bay up in orbit, , I clicked evac up on the top panel and it evaced them outside. I guess at that point I needed to move them under the AF, then lower the AF's elevator thing, position the crew members next to it and press E for each one. I suppose thats how you did it.

I'm reading the documentation now. lol Thats all I needed to do in the first place.

Crew member problem.

Has anyone else had this problem. I have an XR2 docked to the Arrow. I can transfer crew from the Arrow to the XR2 through the port just fine. But when I try to transfer crew from the XR2 to the Arrow, after I click evac, a voice says the transfer was good. But that crew member is outside and not on the Arrow, and further more, that crew member has no body anymore? Maybe this is just a glitch with this temporary Christmas release. I don't know. When I'm on the ground, transfers work fine both ways.
