Does anyone know any free war simulation games that doesn't require a "good" computer to run?

You saw mojoey's post on Dangerous Waters. How about that? :P

....because it's not free, i mostly search the net for free simulations that can be downloaded. >.>

Add it to the thread's title then. Otherwise, people will post about every war simulation games, and not only about free.

There is a remake of an old Apple game, I think it's call Global Thermonuclear War. I'm at work and the site is blocked but google images shows what I remember. Pretty cute game, and it's miles better than the Apple game I remember (aside from being essentially the same game).

How about Global Conflict Blue 2? Or MegaMek, if you like it turn based.

Agreed, Evil. World of Tanks is pretty awesome and doesn't require tremendous horsepower from your PC. I'm in on the Closed Beta of World of Warplanes and it's looking pretty incredible as well.

I thought Empire Deluxe was payware?

I loved Battlefield 1942, which has became a free download.

$35 for Empire Deluxe's severely outdated graphics?

At $10 or even $15 I might consider it just for the nostalgia (I played it more than a decade ago), but not $35.

Anyone here ever played a game called sudden strike? (made in germany Urwumpe!) It was an all 2d game made when everyone started switching to 3d engines for that sort of thing, but it was a great game to play anyways.

Only really inaccurate thing about SS2 was how powerful they made the flak 88s. They were terrific all-purpose field guns, but no gun crew could ever fire that fast.
