Gaming Space Engineers (now in BETA)

Sad. There's so much potential there.

I wish the game used some more colors...

The background is gray. The asteroids on the background are gray. Anything in shadow is gray and the lights are wimpy at best. The interface is blue and blue with white writing.

Blue and blue. With white writing. On gray background.:facepalm::facepalm:

This game has such potential, but it's unlikely that it'll be fulfilled.

Does O-F.com have a server? I'm not a big fan of public servers/games, but I'd be willing to try something out with a group of people who I know won't obliterate my work after I've logged off...

I started one earlier in the thread, actually! :)

But every time I tried to connect to it after the first time, the game was telling me the server is outdated. :P

There's a solution to all that.

Well, I'm not sure about the white writing, but the blue background can be changed. All other is a few tweaks to shaders and replacement of textures.

EDIT: It appears the fonts using different colors are just different textures, so the color of the writing can be changed, too.

Every time? O.o

I haven't checked for a week or so, but every time before that it's worked out fine. I'll be on it once able.

Version seems to be ok now, however I get a Invalid Group ID warning now.

Is the OF server up and running? I was unable to connect to it in View -> Servers in Steam earlier, though I was able to find it by IP.

However, reports are filtering in about this update having broken the Refinery... About to test for myself.

Yeah, it's bugged now. Whatever you first start, it'll continue to refine after you remove it or it runs out. Also, removing the ore and then replacing it causes it to double in size. Nice cheat in survival, but otherwise annoying as :censored:.

That said, the buttons are damned nifty. I'm really liking them.

I tried to join... but Space Engineers doesn't want to launch without updating ().
So I have a newer version than the server again...

One thing I do like about the development cycle is that it's regular and frequent. Every week an update comes out with visible improvements to the game.

As far as alpha goes, it's not too bad.

Hmm, now I get the Invalid Group ID warning again.
There seems to be a normal and a 64 bit GroupID, the 64 bit one has to be used for the server. Maybe the server uses the normal ID?

Could anyone else try to join? Just to check if it's something on my side or the server side.

<groupID64>103582791435838912</groupID64>? Is this the number you use?

Then there must be something wrong on my side...
