Vostock 1 flight reentry details?

Hi, did any of you work out a precise procedure to precision land the Vostock1 - Cedar capsule?

I just started to fly the excellent addon by Jekka. I can get close to Smelovka village, but it is always tricky to manually fly a capsule I think. And so far I have not started to systimatically nail down the procedure. Pure eyeballing at the moment..
I thought I would ask if any of you allready worked out a procedure with distances, burntime burn angle for reentry? Or perhaps a complete Tutorial?? It would save me a lot of trial and error runs.

You should start your deorbit burn somewhere over the Western Africa coast. Purely retrograde would be fine. Perphaps, the Reentry MFD can be of help with the rest?

Thank you for the swift responce! However I am looking for the more realistick approach. The capsule fired its retro engine in an angle, and I would like to know if anyone have tried to make a resonably realistic procedure for this addon.

IMO, it does not matter much. The only right spelling is "Восток" anyway.

I think in his native language it could be correct.

In my language, it would be transcribed as "Wostok" - though it is more spoken like "Wostock" (Like the town "Rostock").

Actually, in swedish it is spelt "Vostok". Voschod is spelt "Voskhod" and Soyuz is spelt either "Sojus" or "Sojuz".

This helps to determine the moment when to start the burn precisely enough. This is really ineteresting to learn how correct the atmospheric model simulation in roblin's instance of Orbiter is. Hopefully, he will share the test results with us here.

Ah.. sorry about the spelling mishap. The sven grahn site is my primary source of information about the flight. and quite useful. but I will have to try different burntimes to get the pin point landing i am looking for. If i nail it, i will let you know.

You will maybe be not able to make a pinpoint landing like in the history flight, even if all your parameters are nearly correct to the original. Orbiter does not model differences in Earths atmosphere because of solar activity.

Ok, i put together a small tutorial. I hope it is useful to all you Vostok 1 fans out there.
