You know you're addicted to Orbiter when...

When the engines on the CFA-44 Nosferatu remind you of the Space Shuttle's ODS.

Where the heck is THAT aircraft from? I want to fly it :) It is very reminiscent of the X-02 wyvern from the ace combat series.

Well that doesn't surprise me much, because it's the superplane from Ace Combat 6. People have noted that it seems to implement features from all other superplanes. It's a very unstable bird that takes some skill to fly, but once you get a feel for it, it's unstoppable.

You're close!
It's the CFA-44 Nosferatu, also from the Ace Combat series (6).

Balls. I was soo disappointed when they released it on the xbox instead of the ps3. I am not going to buy a new system for just one game. I'd heard that they were going to release it for pc, but to my knowledge they never did.

Yep. I have it because for some strange reason I have an Xbox 360 (although I almost never use it.)

It's a whole lot easier than some of the previous games until you get into unlocking content. Holy crap, I have nearly 100 hours of gameplay in that game and STILL haven't gotten everything (and I used to be a demigod of Ace Combat.)

On a random note, I think that would be one of the highest game times I've logged... (But none will ever, ever pass Metroid ZM...not even Orbiter.)

I had some long nights with that game. :tiphat:
Are you one of those lunatics who tries to get 100% items?

You are addicted to Orbiter when you read that, and dream of the G42 Starliner...
Because I did...:)

TRIES?!?!

Sir, I have beaten that game 100% in less than 6 hours, if memory serves correctly. Total game time between three save files is +400 hours...not even including unsaved time or deleted files.

God I'm such a nerd.

Also, you're addicted to Orbiter when you read this, and think of Samus' ship launching from the Battlestar in Orbiter Galaxy.

Or maybe... Nerd I'm such a God???

Before I derail this topic even further (apologies), you know you're addicted to Orbiter when you're driving on the highway, and try to press CTRL+I to get the XPDR frequency of the car in front of you, so you can in turn use the Docking HUD to find your RVel, and in turn pass him cleanly and efficiently with as little RCS fuel as possible.

Guilty, guilty guilty...

hmm... i guess you know you're addicted when you watch the last season's final episode of "the big band theory" and recognize the rocket engine names on sheldon's white board in the background...

when watching that same show, you wonder how come they haven't mentioned Orbiter yet...

you wonder if there's some forum where you could post such suggestions to the writers

...lets see.... guilty, guilty and... yep, guilty:hmm:

edit:

not content in just wondering... you find such forum and post away

i hope it's ok

When you look around the cockpit of the Shuttle-A and think that you need glasses. Seriously. Would they let a pilot fly with eyesight that bad ? :)

When you launch the Energia and callout the telemetry data like a launch commentator so everyone in the house gets mad at you!

When you resurrect Konstantin Tsiolkovsky to ask for advice for your addon.

When Orbiter teaches you more than a year of physics classes.

When you 'forget' to take your sleeping medication just to stay up and play Orbiter.

When you go skydiving from 150,000 ft with a homemade pressure suit just to see what
weightlessness feels like.

EDIT: Was 3 weeks a useless bump?

No, you were doing you're duty and not letting this die.

When you can be found in the IRC the majority of the day.

When Orbiter-Forum is your homepage

When you see a picture of a SR-71 and do a double take beacuse it looks like a XR-2

When you haven't been on Orbiter for months because of computer problems, but you still come to check out the forums everyday to keep up with the newest addons.
