Wow, sounds like some hate and discontent in Mudville:

Earlier this year, there were reports of a fight between NASA designers and the Astronaut Office about the designers wanting to remove redundant safety systems as a way to slim down the capsule. (The astronauts won and the safety systems got put back.)
