No infinites or anything like that, you have to use number numbers. Like 2.

Googolplexian (10^googolplex) can be used, and I think it'll be used often.
Googolplex is 10^googol
Googol is 10^100.
And a quintoquadagintillion is 10^128. No joke!

Here is my number:
Take googolplexian to the power of googolplexian to the power of googolplexian... stack a googolplexian times. Call that number "a" and that operation "*".

* a a times. Like *ing a except taking the result and *ing it again. And again.

Call the result "b".

Work all the way down to z, and continue on to the Greek alphabet. High enough? Not quite!

Now do the English alphabet's capitals, and the Greek alphabet's capitals.

And every symbol on the keyboard.

That is my number.

My number is your number + 1, whatever your number happens to be, whenever you state it. I win.

Seriously though, what's the point of this? There is an infinite number of numbers, so however large your number is, there are still an infinite number of numbers that are larger than it.

Maybe the point is to find the largest number describeable in simple terms?

How about that one:
SZM(Ki)

The number of (S)teps for a (Z)eno (M)achine to solve the set (Ki) of all programs solvable for the halt problem.

And whenever your number changes, mine becomes yours times two.

One, two, three, four, five. :)...Oh :speakcool: I have a second hand!

Maybe I'll count to a Beeblebrox, which can be approximated by the infinite series: Sigma (Googleplexian^n) n from zero to infinity. It makes a decent approximation when n is about 2 Zaphods.

Lol, no infinites, as I said. No concepts even close to it! You have to state the number, not do something like "my number is one higher than yours." If the result is infinite, it don't count.

And please don't just copy. Lol!

My improvised number is: Repeat that sequence I stated above capital omega times. And do that again. And again, capital omega times. Beat that!

Graham's number.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grahams_Number
Graham defined a sequence g, of which Graham's number G = g64. Indeed, it is not possible, given the limitations of our universe, to denote Graham's number, or any reasonable approximation of it, in a conventional system of numeration. Even "power towers" of the form
5e309503b69d96677e8319f82315a251.png
are useless and you have to resort to Knuth's up arrow notation. g1, for example, is greater than the number of atoms in the observable universe and grows at an enormous rate as it is iterated through the sequence g.

Then you can use this as argument's of the ackermann function (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ackermann_function). For small values of m like 1, 2, or 3, the Ackermann function grows relatively slowly with respect to n (at most exponentially). For m ≥ 4, however, it grows much more quickly; even A(4, 2) is about 2×10^19728, and the decimal expansion of A(4, 3) is very large by any typical measure.

Ack(G, G) is just terrifying.

The largest number is about 45,000,000,000 although mathemeticians suspect there may be even larger numbers: 45,000,000,001?

To the geeks: just convert -1 to the largest unsigned integer format you have.

For the rest: if we ignore all posts with a method for making a large number, and only look at actual numbers, then I have the new record:
Code:
