Problem Uncopyable -"Invalid Filename" because of "\" in name?

True... I do 98% work in Linux, and have been for years; it's strange I have never encountered this before! Curious, though, wouldn't actual directories (created under main directory while "unzipping"; actually creating a structure) be better form than using filenames to indicate it?

Problem Uncopyable -"Invalid Filename" because of "\" in name?

All of a sudden I am getting a bunch of uncopyable files on the new XR1 1.9 / XR2 1.4 / XR5 1.7 files from here: http://www.alteaaerospace.com via this post: http://orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=23071 I am extracting them in Linux, and copying them to a NTFS USB drive and it's puking on...

Thanks for your work - looks good!

For those using LinkedIn; there's a new Orbiter Spaceflight Sim page there...

http://www.linkedin.com/groups/Orbiter-Space-Flight-Simulator-3858639?mostPopular=&gid=3858639 Just getting around to using LinkedIn to help find employment, but a while ago I was looking for some of my interests there, and dang if there's not one for Orbiter! It looks new, and has no...

Question Add On Developer Kev Shanow - great "aero" models, you still around?

Sometimes we all move on, pass by and yet, some look back; here's hoping he does. Thanks again! Now did anyone get his code and/or some of the techniques he used, in case he does not? :)

General Question Long Time, No See!

Well, we just got a decent X-31B, the Apollo back to WAC Corporal are pretty stable, and the Shuttles are doing fine; on their way out. I have a few posts regarding the aerodynamic segment of Orbiter - sort of like "Yea we know it does inertia & gravity fantastic, but dang, a B-52 just can't...

Orbit around Earth, into shadow; it gets dark!

Is there a way (a "cheat" maybe) to do nothing but move your orbit back into early sunlight? I know it's not "real" but neither are a few things (appropriately explained and scientifically compromised) here. The other "airplane" sims out there let you choose time and season, and while that's...

Flight Question Is it possible to have Prograde/Retrograde work w/ horizontal attitude?

Again, not a necropost, but instead of asking the same question in a different way... Why is it CONSISTENTLY placing prograde/retrograde orientations, in various vessels "wings pointing to the Earth center"? It's too coincidental to meet the answer above. I know that orientation is not...

Programming Question Vinka's "Spacecraft 3"- key command assignment question.

Most Orbiter "Airbrake" operations are with "B" or "Ctrl-B", and the Hubble (with Space Shuttle) uses "Ctrl-3" to deploy and retract the Solar Array. A beta tester is using Spacecraft 3 and notes that those aren't available and that the "Shift" key combinations are used where single key...

Question Most Realistic Orbiter Spacecraft ?

Interesting - -the aero realms I have asked about here: http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=21142 As for the DG series, being it's "all open source", how about a challenge to the developer of those birds - get some folks here who have legit critical observations and set about to make...

Vessel "When Worlds Collide" Golden Ark anyone?

All those rockets, and all that weight, and a bit of aero modeling needed too? Oh, and a few miles of "rollercoaster rail" for launching? Well??? :) Thanks!

    Request V2/A4 - for Orbiter 2010P1

Interesting addons - Soviet SAMS - now all we need id a fleet of B-36s here. How's the X-2 going - are you enhancing "Balls Eight" (the B-52) over the old X-15 version? Lemme know if you want to beta test the V2's before release. Hey, thinking about a A9/A10? too :)

Orbiter's "Atmo" (Aero) capabilities need study!

I agree the devs are fantastic and they are giving away all this expert labor. Thanks again! While I agree this is a "spaceflight" sim, the few atmospheric craft I have encountered are oh-so close enough as considered, so that maybe FWIW a Dev Conference should be considered for the next...

Question Add On Developer Kev Shanow - great "aero" models, you still around?

http://www.orbithangar.com/searchauth.php?search=kev%20shanow&StartRow=121 He appears to be the "Flight Simmer" of Orbiter. Just wondering if there are any updates or enhancements to some of the near 9 year old models? Have the fantastic B-52 & X-15 Addon that to me, merges MSFS with Orbiter...

Orbiter's "Atmo" (Aero) capabilities need study!

I presume that means well defined and accurate? So it is possible to make the flight modes "as real as it gets"with a well designed model? What about atmospheric stresses, turbulence, weight and drag from icing, density changes in subfreezing temps and of course obscured visibility due to...
