DTMIN is really large yet all looks good

Thanks. I tried it again but this time waited for another orbit of MIR so that MIR was far closer to KSS than my previous attempt (before takeoff). Sure enough I was able to get DTMIN very low right off the bat. In fact I only had to wait 1 orbit to get to MIR (after adjusting DTMIN to zero of...

DTMIN is really large yet all looks good

Hi. I'm attempting to dock with MIR and I've run into an interesting situation. I'm at the point where the ships are in very close to the same orbit but I need to adjust my orbit so I catch up to MIR in a few orbits. My orbital parameters look fine (see below) but my DTmin is absolutely huge (...

    Video Tutorial: DG4 to ISS

Ok, I see where I was getting confused. At 8:07 you are facing V(ISS) and then you turn to face the ISS which is not actually directly behind you as I had assumed. In fact at 8:29 you run into the limitation yourself but it's not an issue as the ISS is not directly behind you. At that point you...

    Video Tutorial: DG4 to ISS

Both the Original DG and DGIV give me the same trouble. Tex is using the DG IV in his tutorial so that isn't the issue. At 6:49 of his 2nd part to his video he somehow looks 180 deg away from the direction of travel in the DGIV. Is there a config setting maybe that removes this limitation?

    Video Tutorial: DG4 to ISS

Tried that. It lets me get close but not all the way to a complete rear view. It stops allowing me to look further back when the complete opposite direction is just barely coming into view.

    Video Tutorial: DG4 to ISS

Hey Tex. Great tutorial. I was finally able to dock with both ISS and MIR using your tutorial as a guide. One quick question that puzzles me though is that as you were arriving at the space station you had the ship pointing away from the station and then you "looked" in the exact opposite...

Software Windowed Mode results in Blank screen

Wow, you have to love the quick responses. I actually did try the window on both monitors but given your suggestion I switched which display was the "primary display" and that solved the problem. The one connected via the "digital output" was the one giving the issue. Perhaps this is some sort...

Software Windowed Mode results in Blank screen

I searched the forum for the better part of an hour but haven't seen anyone with the same issue. Orbiter runs just fine and dandy for me in full screen mode but every time I attempt to run it in windowed mode I get nothing but a white screen. The sound comes on and everything appears to be...

Transfer MFD + Orbit leading questions

Wow! That's a really outstanding tutorial. The combination of this video tutorial and the great video tutorials by TEX for getting to the ISS (lost the link but have the files) make getting up to speed far easier. I was ready to throw in the towel before I came across the previously mentioned...

    Orbiter for Teachers

Thanks. I had planned on using the DG as it seems to be the easiest to get up and running. The first step, or course is to figure out how to do it myself. :)

    Orbiter for Teachers

Disclaimer: I am very new to Orbiter. I am a teacher at a middle school. As part of my duties I get to teach an elective class. I would dearly like to use Orbiter to teach the basics of spaceflight (e.g. Prograde, Retrograde, Eccentricity, how and when to burn to change Eccentricity/Orbit...
