    Challenge Aldrin cycler

Here's the challenge: create 2 Aldrin Cyclers, one inbound (mars->earth) and one outbound (earth->mars). Use some sort of station SSBB, ISS, whatever for each. Launch a DG (or XR2 or whatever) dock with the outbound cycler, ride it to Mars, land on mars, drink a few beers or whatever, then...

    Challenge ARTEMIS challenge

I saw this article today http://www.physorg.com/news/2011-06-artemis-spacecraft-lunar-orbit.html This looks like an interesting challenge. From some earth orbit (Geosync maybe?) transfer to a lissajous or Lyapunov orbit around Eath-Moon L1. Then do a minimum DV transfer to Earth-Moon L2 orbit...

    lunar eclipse tuesday

"While walking on the moon one day, in the merry merry month of ..... December...." Who said that?... I remember somebody singing that..... Pete Conrad, Apollo 12 maybe? Anyhow I was messing around at Brighton beach next tuesday Dec 21, and I noticed a total solar eclipse, which means a...

    Request ECHO 1

From the AEHF-1 thread: This launch will fall in the same week as the 50th anniversary of Echo 1, the very first communications satellite. Echo 1 would be cool, and would go along with the 50th anniversary Sputnik and Exporer 1. I remember seeing Echo 1 in the sky as a kid. I looked in...

Support Shuttle fleet cargo bay door opening sound.

One very minor nitpick is that when the cargo bay doors are opened/closed, is that the sound loop has a click in it when it repeats. I have taken the loop, and edited the beginning and end so they start/end on a zero crossing, thus eliminating the click, and making a smooth PBD opening/closing...

IMFD TLI offset for polar lunar orbit

LRO launches NET Jun 2. I need to get new procedures together for that date. The lunar (polar) orbit targeting is done during TLI, with only a small correction a few hours later. The IMFD docs say what the Lon., Lat., and Rad. parameters affect for an equatorial type orbit, but they act...

    Lunar polar gravity assists

Hi folks! This one is a challenge for sure. I can do this with equatorial orbits just fine, but polar orbits are another thing entirely. The flight plan is here http://lcross.arc.nasa.gov/docs/astrWorkshop/Galal_Orbit_Design_Galal_Final.ppt It's a powerpoint doc, so you need office of some...

Can't move falcon 1 to kwajelein

Hi gotta quick question.... when I move the falcon 1 from cape canaveral to kwajelein, using the scenario editor, it works ok, but if I quit, and then lauch orbiter using the (current state) scenario, I get a CTD. I think it has to do with the BASE parameter, but there is no base at kwajelein...

    X-37

Since the X-37 stole the LRO/LCROSS launch slot, some capable person might make an X-37 add-on. I'm thinking stick it on the velcro rockets Atlas V 501, and land it at Edwards. more info at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_X-37 Thanks a bunch if anyone chooses to pick this up and run with...
