    OHM XR2 Configuration Utility

Hello, I can't believe it has been over 2 years since I made this. Time flies. It's been a long time, but I'll try to help figure out what went wrong. I just installed it on my new Windows 7 64 bit computer and it seems to work just fine for me. It's strange that your installation cannot find...

    Discussion We Stopped Dreaming

This is true, but sometimes the presentation is what makes all the difference. Combined with the imagery and sound, this conglomerate clip is very powerful. The Sagan Series was just sound snips from Carl Sagan's book narrations (and maybe some other sources) but was popular for its...

Yeah, I was editing as you wrote that, haha. I never posted a video before.

    Discussion We Stopped Dreaming

I thought I would post this and try to help spread it around. This is an excellent video modeled after the Sagan Series, but with Neil deGrasse Tyson as the narrator. It is probably one of the most impacting videos I have ever seen. I feel like this should be mandatory viewing for all human beings.

Gaming Spaceway project call for testing

The latest build is amazing. I think Spaceway is really beginning to come together. The trees and rocks add that extra touch on the planets too, though they could be a bit denser (maybe another setting/slider). The new scenario set is also more interesting. Will we be able to place those bases...

    Interstellar spaceflight

It really depends on whether gravity propagates at the speed of light or not. If it does, as relativity says it does, then its influence would indeed only be 5*10^9 light years. If it's instantaneous then the influence would be infinite. I don't know what the latest is for which they think it is...

    Crazy Ice in Pittsburgh

Is this the same storm that is coming to New Jersey and New England tonight? Please tell me it is. I desperately need the day off tomorrow. :)

    Wierd graph

From your orbital speed (found in the top left box labelled OS), the fact that you are in the Suns orbit, and the sim time, two things probably could have happened... or both. It seems that you either went max speed with max time acceleration or that you have stumbled across the glitch that...

Science Do we live inside a computer simulation?

Are our brains not just electrical pulses among neurons at the deepest level as well? Yet, the brain can produce a consciousness. Why couldn't a sufficiently advanced computer achieve this as well?

    New Release D3D9Client Development

Nice work! I am getting tremendously higher frame rates in this than I got in the D3D7 client (90-130 fps vs. 25 fps in space without v-sync). Unfortunately, the frame rate drops to an almost unbearable 10 if the high resolution surface tile at Cape Canaveral comes into view of the...

Problem Big GeoTIFF file help needed

I know that this is an older thread, but I found some even higher resolution geotiff's and .png's than these in the thread from another source. Here they are: True Marble Imagery - Free Download I'm not sure if you guys already know about this or if the projection is off, but I thought it was...

    RC Paper Airplane??

You are probably thinking of a larger project like making 3 dimensional fuselages and such, but I once made a huge paper airplane out of a poster board I never used... It flew similar to the small letter paper version but it needed a long run up to get enough speed. Then, after my RC...

    News The Lost H bomb

Maybe the aliens took it... They've been monitoring our nukes a lot lately: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1315479/Aliens-interfered-weapons-UFOs-deactivating-nuclear-missiles.html At least they are keeping us safe from ourselves! But more seriously, the F-86 was...

Flight Question Re-entry: getting an accurate deorbit position

Are you sure you set the "TGT" in the MFD to Cape Canaveral? Sometimes I forget to change it from it's default target "Surface." Surface uses coordinates so it's probably targeting default coordinates at the equator, like at Brazil.

Eh, my Koenigsegg CCX will still beat it anytime in looks (and almost performance): http://koenigsegg.com/models.php?menu=cars&PHPSESSID=eef92e00818972cb56a1604a1c849aac Nice looking car though. I'm not usually into those kind of cars; I like cars you could actually see on the road.

I whipped out my vivitar and boy do i got a tale to tell.

I doubt it was Mars. Mars is not brighter than Jupiter very often (Maybe in 2003, but especially not now.) And I believe Mars is not a night-time planet right now anyway... I'm in New Jersey too, so I would expect it's not for you either. You'll recognize Mars for sure next year though...

    Just went out

From checking Stellarium with your description, the object was likely a star if it was in plane. But Jupiter and Uranus are appearing very close this month, so you might have seen Uranus. It isn't in plane with the moons though, but that might just be because I'm checking 2 hours after your post.

I whipped out my vivitar and boy do i got a tale to tell.

I have seen all of the planets through my 5 inch telescope except for Neptune and Uranus (although I plan to view Uranus on the 22nd when it and Jupiter will be close enough in the sky to view both in the same telescopic field of view). They all look very cool seeing them in person and...

    Dreams about orbiter

I wish I could have an Orbiter dream... What have you guys been doing to get them...? Come to think of it, I haven't had a dream I remember for a while. Maybe a non-stop 24 hour Orbiter day will fix that...

    Project Orbiter Galaxy

Being magic in Orbiter sure is fun. Until you get careless. In Orbiter Galaxy I'll probably go sub-light too and once I arrive at the other system, figure out the time dilation (using "1 / sqrt(1 - v^2 / c^2)") and adjust the date to the proper relativistic time.
