I've come across news about a new game that's in development. The dev is Notch, who is also involved with Minecraft. The game is currently called 0x10c and will be space based. There is an emulated 16-bit CPU that can have custom programs made for it, which is why I'm bringing it to the community's attention, incase some of our addon devs want to give it a look. I expect it will need some decent navigation software, etc and I do not expect Notch to develop too many or complicated programs for the CPU.
Here's a list of features as found on the main page for the game (it is not in any sort of released state yet, not even beta)

Hard science fiction. Update: GAH, NO! I'm focusing on fun gameplay instead. I still want to get corrected on glaring scientific errors, though.- Lots of engineering.
- Fully working computer system.
- Space battles against the AI or other players.
- Abandoned ships full of loot.
- Duct tape!
- Seamlessly landing on planets.
- Advanced economy system.
- Random encounters.
- Mining, trading, and looting.
- Single and multi player connected via the multiverse.
