Anyone else watching?

This is my 5th 24 Hour :)

Puts F1 to shame.

It could be raining tomorrow at dawn, when the pilots and the machines get really tired :P

It seem that the Aston-Martin prototypes are in trouble already.

Ive done this on Gran Turismo 4. Not very nice.

I watched for about an hour then got bored.

Audi wins again, but with only 1 car passing the finish line (the #2).

Germany and motorsports... ;)

We are just cheating, did again send a Diesel engine car there, AFAIR, there are not many teams with Diesels... But the Volkswagen people (Which Audi is part of) have Diesel fuel in their blood.

The R18 and 908 are both diesels, and are well within the rules.

Le Mans is about designing the most efficient, and fastest car you can within the regulations. The 908 and R18 are fantastic machines.

The R18 that won... well, take a look at some of these facts:
-Travelled 400km longer than an F1 season.
-Travelled 20mph faster, on average, than an F1 car does in a season.
-Used less sets of tyres during the race than an F1 car uses in two race weekends.
-Used 48% LESS fuel than an F1 car does in an ENTIRE season.

Yeah, the modern Diesels are just impressive. :) My mother drives a smaller TDI engine in her car, it is really fun to drive it.

TDI technology was proven by VAG at Le Mans, and in the WTCC with the Audi R10 in 2006-2008 and the SEAT Leon TDI (2ltr) which ran from 2008-2011 in the WTCC and BTCC, so if thats a VAG car (Audi, SEAT and VW use this tech), the TDI tech comes directly from these Motorsport programmes, that VAG used, at great expense, to improve their diesel systems.

Those 2ltr TDI lumps have bag fulls of torque!

Its impossible to introduce road going relevance to F1. Sportscar and Touring Car racing is where the big car manufacturers go to develop new tech!

Still watching it myself. I recorded it all and watched parts over the weekend as I had time and now I'm just finishing the last 4 hours. Other than F1, Le Mans is one of my favorite races to watch every year. :)
