News 3D printing news.

Researchers at Western University have developed a prototype tremor suppression glove, using 3D printing for its key components.
Tremors are a range of involuntary movement disorders, affecting over 25% of the 6 million people suffering from Parkinson’s. Current treatments for the condition simply try to manage the tremors and include Ropinirole HCl, a drug that has recently been successfully 3D printed.

Friend of mine has "Essential Tremor", glad to say Parkinson has been ruled out.
It varies, sometimes he can't hold a cup or glass without spillage, sometimes it goes away completely.
Doc says only treatment is medication at the moment. Likened it to the insulation surrounding some nerves breaking down and sending "noise" to the muscles.
Cruel thing to happen, one of his hobbies is restoring Pre-WWII SLR, mostly Leica. You can imagine the dexterity needed for that.

In 2017, American microgravity 3D printer developer Made In Space was awarded a NASA Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract for the development of its Vulcan Hybrid Manufacturing System. Now, just over a year later, NASA has renewed this SBIR for the Vulcan’s continued development.
Once complete, the Vulcan will be capable of working more than 30 different materials covering both polymers and metals.

Following the award-winning 3D printed gas turbine blade of 2017, Siemens has reached another industry milestone. This time, oil sealing rings have become the first metal 3D printed parts to be used in an industrial steam turbine.
Now installed on an ST-300 operating at the JSW Steel Ltd. plant in Salem, India, the oil sealing rings are the product of years of research, development and testing between sites in Germany, India and Sweden.
