General Question 3D Software for Editing Meshes

dds files work just fine for me also, the problem I have is editing .dds files in my paint program, so I use .psd files for actually making the textures and convert them to .bmp for importing to AC3D. I then use DXTBMP to convert to .dds for loading into textures folder. Then remap the mesh with the .dds in AC3D before importing the mesh to Orbiter.
