I have personally read all the Tintin adventures...and I must say they touched my heart.

Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon were really fun to read.

My favourite is Tintin and the Picaros.

I remember Tintin, can't remember what publication he was in in the UK, could have been "The Eagle"
Can't say I warmed to him, he always seemed a bit bad-tempered, and that dog didn't help much.
The Thomson Twins were good though...

Edit: The BBC have an article:-

Heard a piece on Radio Four news prog, discussing his "sexuality". I think he was found "ambivalent" and his dog heterosexual. You couldn't make it up really.

I did read almost all of them when I was 12 or something...
They were my favourite

I still have them!

Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon were my favourite among them, but I lent them to a friend and... they never came back.:(

Happy Birthday, Tintin!

Still got explorers on the moon, but flight 747 to sydney must be about my favourite... Just loved all the vonDäniken-references...

Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon were really fun to read.

It's even more fun recreating the flight.:speakcool:

I've read somewhere that "The Castafiore Emerald" does not contain any villains. Never noticed it before, but I checked it and it's true. Incredibly fascinating to see a story without villains that's actually interesting.

"The Calculus Affair" and "King Ottokar's Sceptre" are also great books. I love the fictional east-European countries, and the mustache symbol on every government building, car logo etc, and even in the name "Hotel Zsnorr" ('snor' is Dutch for mustache).

Bless you for reminding me about this lost book. I think Destination Moon was the first comic book I ever had. I ended up having about a dozen or so of Tintin comics, all in french language (jokes are a bit sharper I guess).

Seeing that cover picture on wikipedia brought back tons of memories. Next stop is basement, I'm starting to look for my Tintin collection.
