99942 Apophis and religious coincidences

Yeah, I know. But they are still compelling in a weird sort of way...

Not at all, if you know that it is all a statistical trick. If you have enough "prophecies" to choose one, you can choose which one fits your date best. Such stuff is not more mystical than a telephone book in which you discover that there is your name in front of your number.

OK, please let's keep this thread on topic (the uncanny Apophis coincidences). They are, indeed, really weird. (please, don't say something mystical or religious)

Well, the OP did start out with religion as the point of this thread:

BEWARE: SLIGHTLY RELIGIOUS CONTENT
  • Will possibly impact Earth on Easter Sunday.
  • Passes by gravitational keyhole on a Friday the 13th
  • Exact 7 year period between close pass and possible impact
  • Some believe the tribulation will last 7 years
  • Close pass happens in 2029 (beware of skynet )

...snip...

I'm not a religious person, but I think there may be some kind of connection between the bible and science. The problem is the ancient people have no way of knowing this would happen, which makes is even more weird.

Given that opening post, discussing religion is arguably on-topic.

Maybe yes, but some discussions here really go beyond the scope of this topic and threaten to hijack the thread.

Oh, you're not the first to notice that. Neil deGrasse Tyson has been scaring the kids with this for years...

Mystical significance?
