I spent all night, after work, downloading and installing textures and necessities.. I got all of the texture packs on the addon page.

I was curious what Level 8-11 mean exactly? Is that a grade of texture quailty? 8 being good, 11 being great? or are those some kind of alpha channels, that add more depth? Maybe they just relate to a dx version used to make them?
IE: DX8-DX11?

Are there any texture mods, I should look at, that are considered to be the highest res?
Ones besides what are on the addon page?
If there are, I would love to check them out.

Also, please by all means, if there is anything in this game, you think is just awesome, that I could use. I would love to know about it.

I want to try the dx11 version as well, does it run ok? Or does it crash all the time? lol.. I have a good enough system to handle it.
I just don't want to crash too much, while I'm getting use to the game is all.
I was a little confused, with the installation directions also..

Sorry, I ask alot of questions sometimes..lol..
Thank you for the help.

Level = Resolution. The higher the quality, the more pixels has the original texture, and the better the planets surfaces will be rendered (more details).

DX Clients have nothing to do with that. For now you have :

DX7 inline client : the default graphic client that comes with the basic installation. Bugs and crashes free, good framerate in most situations. Relies quite a lot on the CPU.

DX9 client (Jarmonik) : a plugin that allows to use the DX9 features. Improved effects, lights, and framerate. Better quality and excellent framerate, makes your graphic card more useful.

DX11 client (Face, asmi & Co.) : the newest one, use DX11 features. Which includes, for what I understood, the ability to draw terrain from heightmaps without a special program. Since I have only WinXP, I wasn't able to test it. But it should really add another dimension to the sim. No idea about reliability, but I doubt that the guys that develop it would release publicly unstable version. ;)

Personnally I use the DX9 client, which is now extremely reliable, and I watch how the DX11 client evolves :P
