I'm just getting started with my own add ons and am learning Wings 3d.
Has anyone experienced this: If you snapimage a light-colored texture that you prepared in Paint and saved as a .bmp file onto say, a flat mesh object, then export it to Orbiter, it shows up darker than it was in Wings 3d. I don't know enough yet about Orbiter or Wings 3d to be able to tell what I'm doing wrong. Anyone have any suggestions?

Check your material settings.

Default is .8 RGB diffuse

Wings 3d Question

The diffuse on new material seems to be set to 1.0, and that is what is giving me the problem. I didn't know the material settings affected snapimage.

They don't, They affect orbiter.

try setting your diffuse to 0 or 100% red and see what happens.

Wings 3d Problem

I set it to 0.0, so it looks white and that helps a lot. THANKS!

This will allow you to create a piece of text to paste into the end of the .MSH file to give you better control over the material values. Once you find a set of values you know work for you, its one less thing to worry about on wings
