Hey all,

I've looked around on the forums and through various tutorials and documents but I can't seem to find a clear answer. Is there a way to access the hDC that orbiter 'sees' and dump it out to an image file?

Simply grabbing a screen shot of the main view works; for bonus points though, is it possible to setup the view through an arbitrarily positioned camera?

I imagine this will mean grabbing contexts through gdi or directx, but i'm curious if anyone has pointers on where to look.

The Almight Luna E3 :probe: addon exported images when you activated its camera.
The images were purposely degraded to grainy black and white TV scan pics to make them look like the ones in real life looked, but the principle is the same.

Hey Andy,

That's great; even the faux quality loss. I'm looking to do a similar automated probe kind of project. If my day job gives me enough time to do so :hmm:

I'm looking to see how I can get Orbiter to give me the experience of an unmanned mission like Cassini or something in the lunar vicinity. Maybe a virtual google x-prize mission?

Another thing working against me is my insistence that I develop my own launcher as well. A serious drag on any space program, real or virtual. However, the second stage booster is more or less complete testing and I'm doing the first and third stages now.

The second stage "IB-1x" booster in action.
