Hi lads.
I wonder if any of You have an idea if this is possible to reset simulation state to default (loaded positions) without closing the simulation itself? Ie. instead of loading again models and textures, simply reposition already loaded models into starting position and reset fuel/systems setup. A 'quickload' I guess.

I'm asking because this would be helpful if Orbiter is used as educational tool for kids and other people - like when they crash, I could reset it quickly for them to try again, instead of resetting whole simulation and loading same scenario again.

Cheers.

Well with orbiter 2010 it remembers all the textures so it almost skips them.Saves alot of time if you have hi-res textures and if you are using the the same scenario over and over again.

Why not place a small vessel (shuttle PB) or even an invisible mesh at the end of a runway then when they crash use scenario editor to move the DG (or whatever vessel) to the same co-ords as the invisible mesh on the runway. Instant reset for that vessel.

Or cut and paste the coordinates into a .txt file?

That could work I guess. But I was looking for something that could be binded with one of the keys, so it would reset with single combination like ctrl+F12 or smth.

Anyway, thanks for that suggestion - I'll pursue it further.
