I'm using the D.G. S and would like to know how to activate the scram jet engines? I take off using the mains to about 10km altitude and then I have no clue as to how to start the srams? I looked in the Orbiter manual under keyboard interface and all it says is how to actvate the mains or hover which I already know.

Move the throttle for the Scramjets to 100% and if you have enough speed, they should be producing thrust. You should be above Mach 1.3, so the transonic drag does not slow you down. There is no keybinding for the Scramjets, that I know.

I think there is. Try Alt+Numpad 1 and Alt+Numpad 3.

Ok thanks. I found the levers in the 3-D cockpit mode. I'll also try that keyboard advice.

DG-S SCRAM engine
throttle up: Alt Numpad+
throttle down: Alt Numpad-

if you move the 2d panel downwards with the arrows, you will see the throttle lever for the scram engines.

:ninja:

Notice you can also display the panel (F8) and use the dedicated throttle slider.

10km is a bit low isnt it? When you reach about mach 4 you should turn them on

You can already light them sooner, but you must be past the transonic region, so you have less wave drag. In theory, the Scramjet should fail below Mach 3-4, but does not in Orbiter.
