Ironic that Paxton, that in Apollo 13 has portrayed Fred Haise, passed away before the real astronaut, that is well over 80.

Ironic that Paxton, that in Apollo 13 has portrayed Fred Haise, passed away before the real astronaut, that is well over 80.

Cause of death was complications from surgery. Allegedly quite healthy but suffered a stroke during heart surgery. The chances are slim but routine surgery can be fatal even to a young person.

Fred Haise does fortunately seem quite healthy still. Met him a few months ago.
