I love that he got famous again in Family Guy, but he will always be the side of Batman that didn't take itself seriously.

He was my generation's Batman. Like Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels, he took his character to heart and his character's persona to the grave. Rest In Peace...

Ha! Great line. I saw these episodes as a kid in the 1970s but those bits just went straight over my head.

I vaguely remember they carried all sorts of useful items in their utility belts - pretty obscure items, usually invented for one particular episode.

Fitting that it was LA, too. "Gotham City" in the Batman universe is widely regarded as being a stand-in for New York City. Even in real life Gotham is a nickname for NYC.

But in Adam West's TV show, which was clearly filmed in and around LA, Gotham City is so much more West Coast.
