This is an essential addon for everyone with Orbiter. I think someone (maybe Martin in the next Orbiter release) should make a program that keeps track of all addons installed in Orbiter. It wouldn't be extremely difficult I think.
Features I would like to see:
Scenario Checker: Checks orbiter for all the required meshes, textures, etc in a scenario.
Installer: Optional: everyone should know how to install an addon.
Tracker: Keeps track of all addons installed. It would require every addon developer to have a basic folder struture. I think there should be a folder designated to this that keeps a list.
Example:
I install some spacecraft.
The spacecraft addon comes with: Config, Meshes, Textures, Doc, and Addon Tracker folders. In the addon tracker folder there is a notepad file that is named after the addon and has the location of all the meshes, scenarios, etc that came with this addon. That way you could easily uninstall addons with a click.
The scenario checker would work by 'loading' a scenario but showing a log and reporting any errors.
I made an example addon tracker folder with what I mean.
I hope you guys understand me.
EDIT: I've seen the older ones in Orbithangar, but those require to add addons manually or have a preset list. The one I'm thinking of is updated automatically when you install an addon.
I realize all developers would have to add this to their addons, but it would be well worth it in my opinion. It would make orbiter much easier to manage.
