greetings all, my second attempt at making an addon seems to have worked (mostly) so i've opened this thread to post the results and hopefully any updates as i work towards a coherent addon release.
the theory behind the addon is this: i like to play orbiter in a near-future set up where a level of colonisation has reached several areas of the solar system, just so you can go interesting places and theres a bit of infrastructure already there to interact with. so...

TSS TURRA COO (next to the ISS)
the first thing i've modeled is a small local (relatively) freighter, capable of moving heavy loads between moons or spacestations. it is built around a scaffold, on which a large hab module and all fuel, resources and thrusters are unceremoniously bolted. just add cargo! i've excluded modeling the solar panels as i plan on using the solar modules from french orbiter site as its hard to top them.
now... i'm not much of a scientist so i'll post some stats so the more learned amoungst you can let me know if i'm doing anything stupid:
length: 273m
mass: 320000kg empty
fuel:3000000kg er, thats way too much i think
main thrust: 22mn
rcs thrust: 100mn
mass ratio: 10.75
delta v: 35.09 km/s
max crew: 18
gonna try and do a bit more reading and testing on all this though.
shipyard exports with payload manager support which is pretty cool but i need to figure out how to do attachment points and i'd also like to add some UCGO resources, virtual cockpit.. more soon

HELP!
heres a wierd thing: i'm having an issue where orbiter renders the light fine on my model when the game loads but if i spin the turra coo on her axis (so she does a barrel roll) the shadows rotate round with her! see below...

as you can see i have rotated the ship round so the sunlight is facing away from the sun! it doesn't seem to affect the delta glider open in the same scenario. anyone seen this before?

FINALLY
i'd really like any feedback, either on points of realism or ideas to improve the addon, i also really enjoy a collaboration, so if anyones hot on coding and can add to my rather simple modules, well, that would be nice.

took a couple of pictures in sketchup to show a bit more detail,
heres the front end with the comms stack:

a close up of the docking module:

and its rear, fuel tanks and thrusters:

hope this shows it a bit better...
