Good Afternoon and Merry Christmas all! I have a serious problem with orbiter. I just installed orbiter last month and I recently installed the Apollo AMSO add-on. I installed, unzipped and got AMSO to the orbiter launch pad (I have Orbiter 2010 P1 by the way) But everytime I run one of the Apollo scenarios I get an error message: "Terminated after critical error. See orbiter.log for details." I want to know why its doing this and how I can get through it so I can finally enjoyed reliving the legacy of Apollo. Thank you.

Did you see the Orbiter.log file? Can you post the contents of it?

See I'm really not experienced when it comes to this simulator so sorry to sound like a N00b but can you guide me thru to get the log file on this site.

Orbiter.log is located in the folder where you installed Orbiter. You need to open it with a text editor/viewer, like notepad, to copy its contents to include in post. You can try with double-clicking and if nothing opens it by default then choose notepad from the list, or otherwise right click and choose "Open with..." and choose notepad, too. Then select all text and copy to clipboard, and next paste it in a post inside

tags.

For more details, see point 9 of "How to ask for help with an Orbiter issue." article. If you haven't set Windows Explorer to show file extensions, there is instruction how to locate that file among other Orbiter's present in the folder.

There is your problem right there. The AMSO solar system is not installed. Somehow it didn't get copied over when you installed AMSO. Try installing it again and make sure Config/AMSO folder gets copied into your Orbiter installation.

Looks like AMSO hasn't been correctly installed. How did you extract the archive?

Try extracting the archive once again with overwriting existing files if it asks you about it.

You can also extract the archive to an empty folder and with preserving the directory structure copy or move what's been extracted to Orbiter's directory, and again click "Yes" if it asks you whether to overwrite existing files.

I used Microsoft extracting wizard to extract the files. I believe that is the reason why the solar system file was erased. Do you any other ways I can extract besides the suggestion you made in the last post.

You can use 3rd party programs, like 7-zip, FAR Manager, WinZip, Total Commander, WinRAR, etc.
