hi all

I was wondering is their an mfd or something that is extremely easily to use to get to planets like it would tell me when to use prograde and how long to burn when to stop ect.

I'd recommend IMFD, and get the "IMFD Full Manual" to comprehend it. It's not exactly "extremely easy to use", but it will get you from point A to point B (provided you learn how to use it.

TransX (comes with Orbiter) will do the job also, but takes more planning.

Well, rocket science isn't very easy to begin with, so you might be out-of-luck from the get go. However, both TransX and IMFD will tell you how to orient your ship, when to burn, and for how long. Both require some time to understand, but once you figure them out going places becomes much easier and intuitive.

If you want to get to a planet in less than 10 seconds, use the scenario editor.

Learn IMFD anyway though, it's an important skill.

i like IMFD ... TransX scares me :shifty:

In all seriousness though, what you are asking is an easy way to do a very complex task.

IMFD and TransX both do the job very well. Neither is really "user friendy" to a beginner. Using the IMFD Full Manual and it's playbacks are key to learning what the program can do for you.

TransX took me several tries to gget it right, and I still am not using it to it's full potential. It also takes more planning, but still a great MFD.

Best of luck on your interplanetary flight, and happy Orbiting!

TransX and IMFD scares me

This will help remove that fear -> [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4142"]IMFD Full Manual/Playbacks[/ame]

What about those that have manualophobia?

Well, I guess Orbiter isn't quite the right thing for those anyways...

I would recommend Xanax or an SSRI such as bupropion, and probably some counseling to treat that particular phobia. ;)

Anyway...wasn't there an easy LunarTransferMFD or something at some point? Couldn't find it on the hangar, but I think there was...
Best bet is just learn TransX or IMFD, or both. If your Orbiter has "Warp" in it, you are playing a different game than me.

Orbiter installs are like Harley-Davidson motorbikes... no two are exactly alike... even though the "base" is the same, after so many addons you'll always have yourself something unique

although... some claim that one will make you more attractive to women than the other  - which one is which, however, remains up to local interpretation

easies MFD to get to the moon is the stock TransferMFD... like all things not feature-bloated, it's simple to use... but may not offer as much precision and efficiency:tiphat:
